Letter to Josephine's School of Hair Fashion (December 9, 1982)

Description:
“Doing hair” has always (and even now) held a prominent position within the African American community. The connection between grooming and the African American community has mostly been in the form of employment either by hair salons, barbershops, or in the home. What are not prominent are Black-owned schools that center on grooming. A hair fashion school combines both the educational and employment ventures of African Americans in Maine.
