- Description:
- Graduation day at Waynflete School. From Left-Right: Elizabeth Parker, Gerald Talbot and daughter Sharon Renee Talbot. Despite his seemingly limited time due to continued participation in public service and private employment, Gerald Talbot ensured to make time for family. He once noted that in order to keep his insurance and contract with his job at Gannett Publishing, he was required to work at least five hours each night at the printing company while he served in the Legislature. Talbot describes leaving Portland for Augusta around 7:00 am, returning anywhere from 6:30-9.00 pm, and then working a five-hour shift at Gannett Publishing before returning home to sleep (oral interview 2001).
